Plexus

Plexus is a distributed federation and reconciliation substrate that maintains a coherent distributed representation of participating entities, their capabilities, relationships, and shared state. It provides the control-plane services upon which System-d builds mission-specific autonomous behavior. It transforms collections of independent operational entities into coherent, resilient operational systems capable of autonomous behavior.

Whether composed of sensors, vehicles, drones, robots, software services or human operators, distributed systems must continue operating despite communication loss, degraded infrastructure and rapidly changing operational conditions. Rather than treating these entities as isolated devices, Plexus enables them to cooperate as a single adaptive system capable of maintaining a coherent operational picture and full auditability.

The result is a distributed architecture enabling agent-level autonomous behavior even when system-level communications are degraded, such as during network partition. Once connectivity is restored, this same architecture is designed to ensure eventual convergence of the distributed control state through reconciliation mechanisms based on the propagation and federation of signed operational events.

By maintaining a coherent, eventually consistent view of the operational federation, Plexus enables System-d to adapt the behavior of individual agents in response to changes in system composition, capability availability and network conditions. This separation between distributed control-state management and mission execution preserves operational continuity even in the presence of communication failures and network partition.
